Juliette came to see me after being referred by her consultant gynaecologist. She was diagnosed with a mild prolapse. She had been recovering from a bout of flu and noticed the sensation of a bulge inside her vagina.
On assessment she described a history of two vaginal deliveries, 10 and 12 years earlier, one being with forceps, but no significant problems since. Polly was a keen runner and often suffered with constipation.
We discussed some lifestyle changes that would help alleviate the constipation and help alleviate her and alternative forms of exercise that she could do while we were concentrating on treating the symptoms of the prolapse. She began a course of pelvic floor strengthening exercises which we progressed during monthly visits.
After 4 visits the symptoms were no longer there. She is continuing with ‘maintenance’ exercises.
Jullietts says:
‘Louise really knew what she was talking about and exactly how to help me. I can’t recommend her highly enough. I think she’s helped me avoid surgery and I’m so grateful.’
