Strong Through Menopause

Strong Through Menopause is a specialist pelvic health physiotherapy appointment designed to support you through the physical changes of perimenopause and menopause in a warm, understanding and non-judgemental environment.
Many women experience symptoms during this stage of life, but often feel unsure what’s normal, what can improve or who to talk to. You may be experiencing bladder changes, pelvic floor weakness, prolapse symptoms, vaginal discomfort, painful sex, tight pelvic floor, reduced confidence with exercise, or simply feel that your body has changed overnight.
This appointment gives you the space to talk openly about what you’re experiencing and understand what’s happening in your body.
During the Strong Through Menopause appointment, we will:
- Talk through your symptoms, concerns and goals
- Explore bladder, bowel and pelvic health
- Assess movement, posture and core strength
- Look at exercise tolerance and confidence
- Consider vaginal and pelvic changes
- Identify any pelvic floor dysfunction or prolapse symptoms
An internal pelvic floor assessment may be offered where appropriate. This is always optional and only carried out with your full consent and comfort.
You will leave with personalised practical advice tailored to you:
- Pelvic floor exercises
- Bladder and bowel advice
- Advice for vaginal health and comfort
- Lifestyle recommendations
- Strength and movement guidance
- Exercise and activity guidance
- Further treatment options if helpful
The aim is for you to leave feeling reassured, informed and more in control, with clear, supportive guidance to help you feel stronger through menopause.
This stage of life doesn’t have to be something you just “get through”. With the right support, you can feel confident, capable and strong in your body.
